PARENTS of babies born at Airedale Hospital are being invited to give feedback at a special event.

Midwives are seeking people's views about the service to help shape future improvements.

Parents are urged to go along to the 'coffee and cake' event, celebrating the International Day of the Midwife, at the Steeton hospital on Saturday (May 5).

It will run from 1pm to 5pm in the education centre lounge.

There will be tours of the labour ward, and children's activities including face painting and glitter tattoos.

People are also invited to take along maternity-themed cakes, by 4pm, for a competition.

"We are really proud of the services our midwives offer here at Airedale and this is a great opportunity to celebrate everything we do to care for mothers and babies," said the labour ward manager, Fiona McFadyen.

"We want people who have used our services to come in and tell their story.

"At Airedale we always strive to provide the best quality care possible, so we're keen to hear from people who can give us feedback about their experience of using our pre and post-natal care, labour ward and community midwives so that we can continue to improve in the future.

"You're welcome to come along whether you had a baby last week or 20 years ago!"

Free parking will be available in the building 18 car park.
