OVER 400 guests arrived on Sunday,March 18 at the Queens Hotel in Leeds to celebrate an afternoon of style, bravery and confidence at the seventh Breast Cancer Haven Blossom Fashion Show.

This emotionally charged event took place to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire, and while at the same time empowering the inspirational models who took part.

The 33 models involved in this year’s Blossom Fashion Show have all had experience of breast cancer and accessed the charity’s free support in Leeds. Breast Cancer Haven is the charity that supports women through their breast cancer treatment. When breast cancer tries to rob a woman of her individuality, her confidence or her strength, they provide a tailored package of emotional, physical and practical support that helps her hold on to them.

Guests enjoyed a stunning performance by Tom Bleasby, who began his career by recording a virtual duet with popstar Jessie J before appearing on the X Factor UK. The fashion show was bigger and better than ever, with 12 scenes including both national and local retailers including: John Lewis, Anthropologie, Swanky Pants, Diva Classic Ladieswear, Up & Running, Russell & Bromley, Nineteen Bank Street, Marks & Spencer, Headwear by Claire, Fat Face, WomenZone and Maid to Fit.

The models were supported by their friends, families, colleagues and also some famous faces including Yorkshire treasure, Billy Pearce, who entertained guests as compère of the afternoon’s auction. He was joined by Kay Mellor OBE, Claire Young, Emmerdale’s Gaynor Faye, Amy Walsh and Sally Dexter. Breast Cancer Haven Manager, Debra Horsman, said: “This year’s Blossom Fashion was the biggest and best yet. The ladies on the catwalk were very inspirational, and we were overwhelmed with the support we received on the day. I would like to thank everyone for their generosity – roll on next year.”

This year, the event has raised over £29,000 for Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire, which will enable the centre, which will celebrate its 10th birthday later this year, to continue offering free support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
