Ilkley Dynamo 1 Shipley Town 2

A LACK of that killer touch plagued Dynamo throughout in an eventful match whereby a number of outstanding chances were missed. The visitors went two goals ahead prior to the interval and despite being awarded two penalties, the home side could not capitalize and neither was converted.

Toby Harris impressed in an attacking midfield role and Darren Munday also produced an outstanding performance in a well drilled Dynamo defence.

A flurry of accurate touches resulted in Struan Connor heading home his eleventh goal of the season to make it 2-1.

Dynamo showed a greater willingness to attack with Sam Webster and Ed Hainsworth prominent as the home side showed a more aggressive intent during the second period.

However Dynamo could not find a way through as the Shipley massed defence held on during a final quarter where Dynamo continued to create opportunities but lacked the ruthlessness to convert their late superiority into goals.

The team had worked hard to get something from the game but in the end the two missed penalties made the difference.
