THE sunshine contributed to some high-scoring games in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League.

There was a run feast at Apperley Bridge in a nail-biting Group A clash which went to the last over.

The hosts scored 212-9 in their 40 overs after being 15-4, contributions coming from Salman Khawaja (76), Mohammed Nasir (46no) and Mohammed Yasir (40).

In reply, Interlink scored 208 in 39.5 overs after last man Pandor was run out in search of a dramatic win.

Irfan Jamadar scored 55, supported by Zeeshan Ahmed (59no).

In the top-of-the-table clash, Girlington beat Omars by six wickets.

Omars scored 144, Zahid Khaliq taking 5-27, and he completed an all-round performance by scoring 43 in Girlington's 145-4, Maanzar Naqvi making 50.

Bradford Moor gained a winning draw against Bradford Gymkhana after making 219-9, of which Gazanfer Khan scored 102, Nazam Hussain taking 4-34. In reply, Gymkhana made 108-7.

Salem Athletic got only their second win of the season but it was emphatic as they beat Great Horton Church by nine wickets, Majid Rehman bagging 7-13 as Church were rolled over for 65.

VVS Laxman conceded their game against Hallfield.

Great Horton Church remained top of Group B after they had a winning draw against Salem.

Church struggled initially but were revived by a fifth-wicket partnership between Hassan Ali (70) and Riadus Rishad (57) on their way to 252 all out in 38 overs, Mohammed Shazad scoring 52 as Zain ul Abedin took 4-39.

In reply, Salem scored 139-8, with Hanzala Azam scoring 73 and Hamza Mujtaba taking 4-15.

Second-placed Parkside kept the pressure on Church by defeating Bradford Gymkhana by 51 runs.

Parkside made 201-7, Amir Afsar scoring 59, Kesar Zaman 50 and Farhaad Mir 40. Gymkhana were then all out for 150.

Allerton, who made 248-9 (Nabeel Nawaz 61, Yasir Shezad 60), have moved into third after beating Cambing by 67 runs.

Cambing were all out for 181, with Zaffar Iqbal hitting 48 and Asad Ali taking 4-55.

Second-from-bottom Girlington notched only their second win of the season after beating fourth-placed Yorkshire LPS by four wickets.

LPS made 204-9 (Piyush Patel 80, Ghazanfar Ali 51) as Girlington skipper Shahid Saleem took 4-52 and Manzur Sharif 3-29, including a hat-trick.

Saleem then made an unbeaten 91 as Girlington scored 205-6.

Basement boys Bowling Baptists also gained only their second win of the season, defeating third-placed Cross Roads & Daisy Hill by eight wickets after dismissing them for 90.

A winning draw against West Bowling was enough to keep Greenfield at the head of affairs in Group C.

Greenfield posted the highest total of the day – 316-5 before declaring after 35 overs, but they were 44-4 before Mazhar Iqbal (120) and Sajid Mehmood (121no) added 246.

Anjum Munir took 4-86 for West Bowling, who could only make 102-6 in reply off 45 overs, stalwart Joe A'herne being supported by 15-year-old Hritick Patel to ensure the draw.

Yorkshire Friends stayed second after beating Bowling Baptists by 46 runs. Friends were all out for 140, while Baptists could only muster 94 as Shiraz took 5-18.

Third-placed Cambing defeated Great Horton Meths by ten runs in a high-scoring game after making 226-9, with Ben Taylor taking 5-59.

After tea, Meths scored 216 off 38.2 overs, with Gareth Lewellin making 76 and Dan Jackson 40.

Hallfield, who made 180-6 (Zafar Iqbal 51, Haroon Rashid 42), beat cellar dwellers Yorkshire LPS by 83 runs. Another comfortable victory was by Mayfield over Mandhata.

Mayfield scored 181 (Sajad Ahmed 44) before dismissing Mandhata for 63 (Mohammed Faisel 7-13).

Bradford Indians still head Group D after beating Allerton by eight wickets, with the latter all out for 138.

In reply, Bradford Indians scored 140-2 (Rakesh Ramji 53no).

Mayfield, who defeated Muff Field B by seven wickets, remain in second place.

Muff Field scored 141-7 (Qasim Ali 58no), while an unbeaten 66 from Paul Cuthbertson helped Mayfield to 147-3.

Greenfield beat TABS by four wickets to stay third, TABS being all out for 99 in 34.3 overs, Greenfield replying with 101-6 in 23 overs.

Muff Field A beat Great Horton Meths by one wicket in a tense affair.

Meths were all out for 114, with 'Mr Extras' being top scorer at 46, Muff Field A scoring 115-9 after tea, with Keith Bottomley taking 5-22 and 13-year-old Keiron Heptinstall chipping in with two wickets.

Buttershaw St Paul's beat Central YMCA by 59 runs after making 146-9 (Micky Chubb 54, Kieron Bolton 46), YMCA being skittled for 87.
