Ilkley Dynamo 3 Yeadon Ventus 2

DYNAMO'S upsurge in form continued with another outstanding second-half performance to put them through to the final of the Wharfedale and District FA Sunday Cup.

Dynamo and Ventus, who last won the cup in 2013 and 2014 respectively, produced a stirring clash.

The home side battled throughout the first half against an extremely blustery wind and opponents who play in the Bradford Alliance League.

Damon McDonough. opened the scoring for Yeadon early on. Shane Etherington, the Dynamo keeper, made a couple of reaction saves as Ventus made good use of the conditions.

Dynamo had a goal disallowed before Billy Summers made it 2-0 for the visitors.

Both Ollie Blair and Michael Bloom made impressive contributions as they pieced together some neat interplay on a heavy pitch – this was Dynamo's fourth home game in successive weeks.

Tom Hunter and Chris Holmes helped to increase the tempo of the Dynamo play as the home side looked to hit back.

A powerfully directed header from Sam Jacomb made it 2-1 before a goalmouth scramble resulted in Danny Bott levelling matters.

The hosts continued to push forward and Ben Cater smashed home a strong drive but the goal was ruled offside.

Eventually further sustained pressure, in a game which appeared to be destined for extra time, resulted in the impressive Ross Wilson hitting home a powerful shot to seal a 3-2 win – their fifth in six matches.
