Ilkley Dynamo 5 Horsforth St Margaret’s 2
DYNAMO continue to head the Wharfedale Triangle Premier Division after a lively second-half performance.
The visitors belied their lowly league position in the early stages before Dynamo took the initiative.
The opening goal came when Dynamo were awarded a penalty after some fine work by Michael Bloom.
Captain Tom Higman made no mistake to put Dynamo 1-0 ahead. However, Horsforth struck within five minutes to level matters at 1-1.
Dynamo keeper Rob Powell made a couple of important saves to keep the score even.
After half-time Dynamo responded in style. The tenacious presence of Tom Hunter and another outstanding defensive contribution by Sam Jacomb helped Dynamo to go up a gear.
Chris Holmes took his tally to five goals in the last six games with a fine strike to make it 2-1 and they went further ahead when some composure and accuracy by Tom Rennolds produced a classic goal for a 3-1 lead.
Although Horsforth pulled a goal back to make it 3-2 after Ross Wilson had hit the woodwork twice, it was left to man of the match Danny Bott to seal the game with a fine brace.
Dynamo entertain Yeadon Ventus in the Wharfedale & District FA Machell Trophy semi-final on Sunday.
