ORGANISERS of the annual PoppyAppeal in Burley-in-Wharfedale are urging local people to consider giving the cause a boost by buying a calender of local scenes.
Copies of the 2016 calender, showing scenic views in and around the village, are now being sold in aid of the village's Poppy Appeal.
The majority of pictures used in the calendar have been taken by Otley photographer, Steve Davey, who has had a number of his pictures featured in the Wharfedale Observer and Ilkley Gazette this year.
In addition to the recent views of the village, the page for the month of November has an historic and nostalgic black and white print of the Remembrance Parade of 1960 passing Burley'sWar Memorial.
Calendars cost £4 and come with an envelope.
Appeal volunteers said the calendar would make an ideal Christmas present, as well as helping the appeal itself.
They can be obtained by calling the Burley Poppy Appeal organiser, Rachel O'Connor, on 07507125141 or contacting Angela Pickard.
