OTLEY Lions raised more than £20,000 for good causes last year.
The group, which supports local, national and international charity and community projects, generated the money through book sales, sponsorship, public donations and collections. Publicity officer Patrick McCauley said: “None of our work would be possible without an influx of finance.
“Well done to the people of Otley for contributing to your local Lions Club with such unstinting generosity.
“Thanks also to the local businesses who have provided corporate sponsorship; retail outlets for displaying our collection boxes; patrons of the famous pot-shy at local shows and carnivals; customers of the Mercury Row bookshop; and citizens who donated to the Christmas collections. The Lions thank you.”
