STUDENTS from Guiseley School learned about careers in electronics during a visit from a training, technology and resource centre.
Teenagers met with representatives from Horsforth-based Electronics Yorkshire, which supports the electronics industry across the UK.
With a shortage of electronic apprentices in the area, representatives from the organisation visited the school to talk to Year 11 students about apprenticeships and careers in the field.
Engineering teacher Andrew Mangham said: “It’s amazing how many small electronic companies are on our doorstep yet their work goes unnoticed.
“Some are contributing to real cutting-edge projects and it is important that our students realise this.
“Being employed by such companies is a fabulous opportunity and a superb starting point for any young person.”
The centre has already contributed to the training of a number of Guiseley School students.
