THREE local mums are planning to enter the Ilkley Triathlon next month to raise money for a new soft play area at Christchurch.

The local mums are entering the Ilkley Triathlon on Sun 21st Sept in aid of the new soft play area, called Dan’s Den, which will be built at Christchurch on The Grove.

Felicity Tomblin, who recently completed a sponsored swim of a mile of Windermere in aid of Dan’s Den, will start the race on September 21 by swimming.

Ruth Jones will go next, cycling three times up Carter’s Lane and down Curly Hill, followed by Christine Henney who will run the final lap.

All three women attend Christchurch, on The Grove, with their children aged between three years and 16 years, and are committed to the Dan’s Den project which will offer support and care for local families as well as a fun place to play.

Their fundraising target is £2,000 and people can donate money by using Christine Henney’s Just Giving web page which she has set up for their team, Dan’s Den Dynamos.

The project will cost more than £225,000 and over half of the money has been raised through grants and donations so far.
