A FIVE hour pilates marathon raised almost £2,000 for a breast cancer charity.
Pure PIlates in Ilkley chose to celebrate its fourth birthday on May 24 with a pilates marathon in aid of The Haven in Leeds.
The pilates studio has often supported various breast cancer charities but this is the first time it has held an event for a local charity such as the Haven - and both clients and staff rallied to the cause.
At the last count, the studio had raised £1954 from classes on the day, a raffle and silent auction and the sale of 'booby biscuits', pink juices, cupcakes, t-shirts socks, plus kind donations
The target for fundraising was just over half of the amount eventually raised.
Pure Pilates said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generous response of our clients and local businesses who have donated prizes for our raffle and the silent auctions. Our visitors from the Haven in Leeds, led by manager Debra Horsman, were delighted to hear how well supported the day had been,.”
