Ilkley-based firm NG Bailey has made a key appointment to its group operating executive team.

Lee Marks has joined the business as group commercial director, the Denton Hall-based company announced last week.

In his role, his primary focus will be on the development and implementation of the company’s commercial strategy.

As a member of the group’s operating executive team he will report directly into the company’s chief executive, David Hurcomb.

He brings with him 25 years of experience working in all areas of the construction industry. Mr Marks has held previous director roles for companies including Laing O’Rourke and Crown House Technologies.

Most recently, he held the position of commercial director for Galliford Try, within its buildings division.

Mr Marks said: “NG Bailey has a market-leading position and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to work as part of its group operating executive team to help shape its future diversification and growth strategy.

“NG Bailey has a fantastic reputation and I look forward to working with David and the rest of the team to build on what’s already been achieved.”

Chief executive David Hurcomb added: “Lee’s appointment will strengthen the team and ensure our commercial capability is best in class.

“This is a strategically important appointment, especially as we continue to operate in such a tough economic climate.”
