Michelle Collins has said there’s no reason why her alter-ego Cindy Beale can’t return, from the dead, to Albert Square.
Kathy Beale, played by Gillian Taylforth, made a shock appearance in last month’s live EastEnders episode despite the fact soap fans thought she’d died in a car accident in 2006.
Now Michelle, who played Ian Beale’s wife Cindy, told The Sun she’d like to see her character, who died off-screen, in prison during childbirth, return.
The star, who is about to jet off for castings in LA, said: “If Kathy Beale can go back, there’s no reason why Cindy can’t.
“It hasn’t stopped them writing in supposedly dead characters back in the past so I’m sure they could make it work. Everyone seems to be coming back from the dead,” the former Corrie star said.
Kathy Beale will return to EastEnders on a permanent basis later this year.
EastEnders recently celebrated as millions of viewers tuned in to find that Cindy’s on-screen daughter Lucy had been killed by her brother Bobby.
“I’d love to go back now,” Michelle said. “It would be great for Lucy’s mum to make a shocking reappearance.”
