Free Birds, a new play by Hull-based writer David Cortona, will be performed at Ilkley Playhouse and Otley Courthouse as part of a district tour next month.
Do Lizzie and Ben (both unhappily married to other partners) just meet up to inject a little romance and spice into their otherwise exhausting and problematic lives, or, if it’s something more than that, how deep is their love and can they really fly above all that life throws at them, especially when Lizzie emigrates with her family to Northern California?
Directed by June Russell, Free Birds is described as a funny, tender, emotionally charged drama about a modern-day relationship.
It is being staged by Icabod Productions and can be seen on Saturday at The Wildman Studio, Ilkley Playhouse, at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £9 – call (01943) 609539 or visit lkleyplayhouse.org. It will also be staged on Saturday, April 21, at Otley Courthouse at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £9 or £7 in advance or £10 or £8 on the door. Telephone (01943) 467466 or visit otleycourthouse.org.uk
