Although the Upstagers’ pantomime is still in full swing, the Ilkley-based theatre group is already holding auditions for its next show.

Following the success of Billy Elliot The Musical in 2011, Upstagers will be returning to Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre in April performing Summer Holiday.

The Sixties musical is based on the classic film that starred Cliff Richard and the Shadows - plus an iconic red London bus.

Upstagers will be holding auditions for performers who can act, sing and dance and are aged 16 years or older.

Boys’ auditions will be held on Sunday (February 5) at 2:30pm and girls’ auditions on Tuesday (February 7) at 7:30pm.

Auditions will take place at ‘The Barn’, the Upstagers’ headquarters, opposite Ilkley railway station.

More information can be found online at upstagers.org.uk or by contacting the show’s director, Gill Jackson at gillmjackson@btinternet.com or (01943) 830438.

Tickets for Summer Holiday are already on sale and can be booked by calling (01274) 432000.
