Dancer extraordinaire Lionel Blair is bringing his one-man show to Ilkley on Monday, June 7.

The colourful TV personality, who has worked in every genre of entertainment, is on tour with Tap and Chat with Lionel Blair - an evening of reminiscences, anecdotes, and, of course, dance.

The show, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe, has been a sell-out at London’s New End Theatre and marks his 60th year in show business.

Billed as a glimpse behind the scenes, the show includes anecdotes from Lionel’s stage and screen career, during which he performed alongside legends such as The Beatles, Sammy Davis Jnr and Ella Fitzgerald. Songs include Me & My Shadow, They Can’t Take That Away From Me and Heaven.

Lionel started his career as a dancer but became a household name as one of the team captains on Give Us A Clue and presenter of the game show Name That Tune.

His recent credits include The Rocky Horror Show at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre, the Child Catcher in London Palladium’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the host of Simply Ballroom on tour. He won younger fans after starring as a faded celebrity in Ricky Gervais’ Extras.

Tap and Chat with Lionel Blair will be at the King’s Hall and Winter Gardens at 7.30pm on Monday, June 7. For tickets, call the box office on 01274 432000 or visit bradford-theatres.co.uk.
