ADDINGHAM Drama Group are hoping to steal the show with their autumn production – Theft by Eric Chappell, author of Rising Damp, Only When I Laugh and numerous stage plays. Hugh Lambert and Gill Stead play a couple helping to celebrate the anniversary of their, more affluent, friends. When they return to the special couple’s home, the foursome discover that the house has been burgled – resulting, surprisingly, in the disruption of two seemingly happy marriages and one formerly strong relationship. The gung-ho husband (played with aplomb by Peter Moon) sets to find the culprit while his perpetually sozzled wife, performed convincingly by Pauline Ashworth, keeps herself lubricated amidst the chaos. The appearance of a mysterious police officer, played with delightful eccentricity by Michael Padgett, and the threat of a few revelations and home truths leads to an engaging and compelling comedy - with an excellent ensemble cast who keep the audience in suspense until the final curtain.

The first shows are on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 October with further performances on Thursday, October 31, Friday and Saturday, November 1and 2- all at the Addingham Memorial Hall starting at 7.30pm.
