LOCAL group The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band play at Queens Hall November 2.

Join popular Otley-based The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band for a night of rock ‘n’ roll at Queens Hall, Burley-in-Wharfedale, with guests Plumhall.

The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band is a high energy six-piece’folk, roots and rock ‘n’ roll’ band. They’ve been described as “a cross between The Pogues and The Oysterband, with a bit of The Waterboys, The Saw Doctors and the Bruce Springsteen Seeger Sessions Band thrown in”.

And they have an enviable reputation for being the “go to” band for finishing off the night in a joyful, energetic, and chorus filled way.

With the release of their latest album “The Silences In Between” the band received their second consecutive five star review from RnR (R2) Magazine. It described the album as “rollicking perfection ….. what elevates every song is that each is hung on an infectious chorus, rendering the entire album compulsive listening. Great album from a great band.”

Plumhall is the powerful song writing partnership of Michelle Plum (ex Chumbwamba/Chris Norman Band) and Nick Hall (Hall Brothers/ex Magna Carta). Their debut album ‘Thundercloud’ was highly acclaimed on release and continues to delight listeners all over the world.

The duo has consistently wowed critics and audiences with their live performances on the UK acoustic circuit, delivering outstanding guitar playing, smart lyric writing and wonderful harmonies which set them above most of their contemporaries.

The gig takes place on Saturday, November 2. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are available at £10 online via Eventbrite or £11 on the door. Cash bar available throughout the evening.

The event is being hosted by Wharfedale Labour Party to raise funds for Shipley Constituency Labour Party campaigning activities.

Queens Hall has recently undergone a period of refurbishment works to improve facilities and has been redecorated throughout.
