THE CAROLE King Songbook will return to Yeadon this September.

The show, which enjoyed a successful world premiere at Yeadon Town Hall in June followed by a UK tour, has been described as a ‘high energy romp through the songbook of one of the great songwriters’.

It will be back in Yeadon, again at theTown Hall, for one night only on Friday, September 27.

Featuring concert-style production, The Carole King Songbook sees the cast perform some of the songwriter’s most famous hits as well as songs she wrote for other artists, including The Drifters.

The show also includes other great tunes from the era to treat audiences to a full night of musical classics.

Among the hits that will be performed on the night are: One Fine Day, Beautiful, The Loco-Motion, You’ve Got A Friend and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.

The production features dazzling costumes, too, and a striking LED screen backdrop to help deliver what the organisers say all adds up to a ‘fantastic night of entertainment’.

Producer Jamie Hudson said: “Carole King’s songs are timeless and as we’ve been touring we’ve noticed audiences singing along to well-known tunes they didn’t even know were Carole King hits!

“It’s a great, feel-good evening of entertainment and we hope to see lots of familiar faces on the 27th, as well as people who couldn’t make it along to the show last time.”

Reviews of the show so far have been overwhelmingly positive, with critics describing the its as ‘a great night’s entertainment’ and praising the ‘incredibly high production values’.

The cast includes a team of four professional vocalists: Kara Mottram, Eve Rhianna Kitchingman, Thomas Lillywhite and Danny Dixon. The singers will be supported by a live band of musicians - Darren Watson (keyboards), Alex Hogg (guitar), Hugh Vincent (bass) and Michael Turnbull (drums) - when they perform at Yeadon.

The production is being directed and choreographed by Louise Denison, assisted by Musical Director Marie Collins.

The Yeadon show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £17.50. For more details visit https://www.yeadontownhall.co.uk/live-music .
