The City of Bradford Brass Band will be back in Ilkley next month for their 8th annual Midsummer Brass concert at Christchurch on The Grove, on Friday July 6.

Ilkley audiences have taken this band to their hearts, as they have increased their following over the years, culminating in last year’s sell-out performance.

The bands popularity has reflected their march up the banding elite, now standing in the top ten UK brass bands, with several award-winning soloists and under the charismatic leadership of their Musical Director Lee Skipsey.

The concert is organised by Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary Club and will raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research Uk and End Polio Now.

“We feel very lucky to have secured the band’s appearance once more”, said Rotarian Chris Jones, “ because we know they have a heavy Competition schedule which only leaves them with a limited number of concert appearances”.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, are £12.50 for adults, including a programme and refreshments (children under 15 £6) available in advance from the The Grove Bookshop Music Dept, or by email from, or tel. 01943 817732, or on the door on the night.
