A MUSICIAN who has been dubbed 'The Welsh Springsteen' will help Otley enjoy a rocking start to 2018.

Martyn Joseph is an acclaimed guitar player with a unique percussive style and a show-stopping voice.

As well as 'The Boss' he is frequently compared to the likes of John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews but has his own, distinct sound that incorporates folk, rock, funk and Americana.

Joseph has previously toured with artists as diverse as Art Garfunkel, Jools Holland, Ani DiFranco, Suzanne Vega, Mike and The Mechanics, Joan Armatrading, Celine Dion and Shirley Bassey.

His most recent CD, Sanctuary, was released in 2015 to great critical acclaim and over 30 years he has produced 32 albums, sold more than half a million records and honed his live craft by performing thousands of times.

Also committed to social causes, in 2014 Joseph launched his Let Yourself Trust - a not-for-profit organisation which aims to make a difference by challenging injustice, educating via advocacy, campaigning for human rights, and

raising awareness of issues.

His Courthouse show starts at 8pm on Friday, January 26 and tickets cost £16.

They can be booked by visiting otleycourthouse.org.uk, calling (01943) 467466 or popping into the venue, on Courthouse Street.
