Voices of Yorkshire have teamed up with a Beatles tribute band, Beatles for Sale, and are putting on two shows at the King's Hall in Ilkley on June 24th.

Voices of Yorkshire is made up of a family of choirs from Bingley, Skipton, Oakworth, Silsden, Pudsey, Menston and Yeadon. They meet weekly to sing together and perform across the region. All performances are for charity and this year's chosen charity is Dementia UK.

The Ilkley show will see around 200 singers perform a range of popular songs from Pompeii by Bastille to Can't Fight This Feeling by REO Speedwagon, as well as accompanying Beatles For Sale for a couple of numbers. A local comedian will also be joining the two shows.

A spokesperson said: "We are excited to put on a show of beautiful singing, comedy and Beatles nostalgia for the people of Ilkley, and beyond!

"Many of us have been impacted by dementia and we know that music can be so beneficial to people suffering with the disease. With this in mind, we will be gifting some tickets to local families impacted by dementia. It will be a dementia friendly event and we hope that we can give a few families the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon or evening out together with their loved ones.

"We have three boxes available for the 2:30pm show and four boxes available for the 7pm show. Each box seats four people. If you would like to be considered for this, contact: voypudsey@gmail.com "These tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We will be collecting for Dementia UK at the events."
