THESE two photographs are a snapshot of some of the dramatic changes that have taken place on Yeadon High Street over more than a century.
An atmospheric picture taken in the 1880s shows members of the Ryder family outside their stationer and bookseller shop in Yeadon.
In 1906 the shop premises are listed as High Street - on a site where Morrisons now stands.
The photographs are from the archives of Aireborough Historical Society, which also has information about the family from the British Census of 1881.
The census lists bookseller and stationer Mary Ryder , a widow, aged 59. Also listed are three grown up children, who are all unmarried - Sarah Ryder , a 30-year-old dressmaker, Mary E Ryder , 28, also a dressmaker, and railway clerk John W Ryder, 25.
