THESE smartly dressed children were photographed in about 1900 at South View School in Yeadon.
Formal and informal pictures of the youngsters as they marked Whitsuntide were captured by Ernest Ethelbert Slater of Hopeville House in Yeadon.
The images are now in the archives of Aireborough Historical Society.
Archivist Carlo Harrison said: “The children I think were getting ready to go to a function in the grounds of Hopeville House more than likely to be stood in what is now my garden.
“All the photos carry a magic quality about them, look how the children are dressed, and, although a bit blurred a very smart teacher is in one of the pictures also.
Ernest Ethelbert Slater was the manager of Manor Mill and a keen photographer.
