ACCLAIMED Ilkley youth theatre company Upstagers will explode onto the stage of Ilkley's Kings Hall next year with the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s dazzling musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The international audience favourite will play for five shows between April 20 and 23 2016.

The show is a lively, comic and colourful journey through the biblical story of young Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers after his father favoured him with a gorgeous coloured cloak. His gift of prophecy saves him from an uncertain fate and helps him to recue Egypt from famine.

Animated with a high energy mix of music, dancing and singing from 1950’s rock and roll to calypso to country and western, this show is a firm hit with cast and audiences alike. The show is hailed for its family friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music.

Show director, Paul Nowland says that he is determined to make the show an enormous success.

He said: "Joseph is such a well known and well loved show and we are planning a spectacular performance with a big set and a big supporting cast. I’m really looking forward to it already."

For anyone interested in being part of the show, auditions are being held at the Upstagers Barn next month.

Auditions for the male roles are being held on Sunday November 8 at 5pm and for female roles on Sunday November 29 at 5pm. Chorus and choir auditions will also be held in due course.
