There were limited local matches due to Mothering Sunday and the weather, with some teams switching their games to their opponents’ ground.
THERE was another limited Women’s Football programme locally last week, after some pitches remained waterlogged.
MOST of last weekend’s West Riding County League games went ahead, and Second Division leaders Athletico were hoping to retain the large gap between themselves and the chasing pack that now includes visitors Burley Trojans.
Once again there was a restricted Women’s Football programme after postponements but some teams utilised local all-weather facilities to ensure games went ahead.
LAST weekend there were a limited number of league matches in the West Riding County League due to the League Shield, with entertaining games and many close results despite the difficult and challenging conditions on the day.
SILSDEN Juniors were back to winning ways in the County Premier, a bottom-of-the-table clash at home to Brighouse Sports. The 11–1 victory included four from Anna Fryers.
LAST weekend there were a limited number of Women’s Football League matches due to their being a heavy cup schedule.
SILSDEN Juniors’ women’s football team have a big match this Sunday in the West Riding County Cup, as they host holders FA National League side Halifax FC in a 3rd-round tie.
The weekend’s women’s football programme was decimated last weekend, with no games played, but there were some games the previous weekend.
