TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 2nd day of December 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) & (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (5) & (6).
(11 HORSEMAN DRIVE. COPMANTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Horseman Drive, Copmanthorpe between the projected western boundaries of Property No's 12 and 16 Horseman Drive (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1130hrs on the 6th day of December 2021 and ending at 1530hrs on the 6th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(21 WATER LANE. DUNNINGTON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Water Lane, Dunnington between its junction with Common Road and a location approximately 25 metres north-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 6th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 17th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally all 'on-street' parking places on both sides of (i) Petercroft Lane between its junction with Common Road and a location approximately 55 metres north­east of said junction and (ii) York Street between its junction with Common Road and a location approximately 62 metres south-west of said junction (suspension areas) will be subject to a suspension. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(31 ALMERY TERRACE - RIVERSIDE FOOTPATH. YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath between the south-eastern end of Almery Terrace and the riverside footpath, York (closed footpath) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on 6* day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 24th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(41 GRANVILLE TERRACE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Granville Terrace, York between its junction with Lawrence Street and the southern extended boundary of property No. 1, Granville Terrace (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1700hrs on the 7th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 8th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(51 FOSSGATE & WALMGATE. YORK
This Order will amend the 'Access Periods' so that they apply every day from (a) 1030hrs until 2000hrs between the 15th December 2021 and 5th January 2022 and (b) 1030hrs until 1900hrs between the 6* January 2022 and 30th September 2022 with no amendments to the existing vehicular access regulations within the said time periods in (i) Walmgate, York between Merchantgate and Fossgate and (ii) Fossgate, York (restricted roads) during the period when business promotion measures have been put into effect, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 15lh day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 30* day of September 2022 (promotional period) or at a time when the business promotion measures are revoked whichever is the earlier. Additionally, Loading Bay's will be introduced in: (i) Walmgate, York, on its south west side, from the south eastern property boundary line of No. 13 Walmgate south east for 13 metres; (ii) Fossgate, York, on its west side, between the south eastern property boundary line of No. 34 Fossgate and the north western property boundary line of No. 2 Walmgate; (iii) Fossgate, York, on its west side, between points 55m and 61 m from the projected south eastern highway boundary line of Lady Pecketts Yard; which will be in operation, each day from (a) 1030hrs until 2000hrs between the 15th December 2021 and 5* January 2022 and (b) 1030hrs until 1900hrs between the 6th January 2022 and 30th September 2022, during the promotional period. This is to promote post-Covid-19 business recovery. No requirement will be made for an alternative route for prohibited traffic.
(61 CASTLEGATE. YORK
This Order will (i) prohibit vehicles from proceeding in Castlegate, York between the respective north western property boundary of No. 12 and the south eastern property boundary of No. 28 Castlegate (closed road) and (ii) introduce a loading ban in Castlegate, York (restricted road) and (iii) revoke the restriction on cyclists making a right hand turn from Clifford Street in to Coppergate, during the period when business promotion measures have been put into effect, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 15" day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 30* day of September 2022 (promotional period) or when the business promotion measures are revoked, whichever is earlier. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Castlegate, York between the south eastern property boundary line of No 28 Castlegate and its junction with Tower Street is suspended during the promotional period to allow two-way traffic flow in that length of Castlegate. This is to promote post-Covid-19 business recovery. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the promotional period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
