GUISELEY'S two most recent signing will miss Sunday's FA Cup first round showdown against Accrington Stanley.

Striker Rowan Liburd and midfieldman Alex-Ray Harvey will be sidelined for the Nethermoor clash.

Liburd, who has scored three goals in three games since joining the Lions, cannot play under the terms of his loan deal from League Two side Stevenage.

Harvey, who made his debut in last Saturday's 3-2 away win at Woking, is cup tied having played for Barrow in their 2-1 Fourth Qualifying Round defeat at Shaw Lane.

Despite their absence and a lengthy injury list - 11 players were ruled out last week - manager Paul Cox is upbeat.

He masterminded a cup upset last season when his Barrow side won 2-1 at Bristol Rovers and would love to take Guiseley into the second round for the first time.

This is the seventh time they have reached the first round but have never gone any further in the competition.

"This is a huge game for the whole club," said Cox. "I gave the players two days off after the win at Woking.

"The first away win lifted another monkey off our backs and now we can focus on the cup.

"We trained on Tuesday and will train again tonight and tomorrow as well as having a light session on Saturday.

"I want us to prepare properly for the game. We haven't got anything to lose.

"In everybody's eyes we are the underdogs. I want us to go out there to win the game.

"It is no good just sitting back because that is inviting trouble against a side as good as Accrington."

Cox is planning to study DVDs of Accrington's most recent games but insists he won't be bombarding his players with information about the opposition.

"It is important that we focus on our game. I will discuss Accrington's style of play and their set pieces but I don't want them to be worrying about the opposition.

"We have to get our game right and I feel that this is a great opportunity for them to show what they can do."

Cox is a big admirer of Accrington manager John Coleman and the tremendous job he has done since their non-league days.

"John has shown what can be achieved at a small club. He has transformed them from a non-league outfit to one challenging for promotion from League Two.

"They play good football and that is down to all the hard work John has put in."
