Ilkley Dynamo 1 Otley Town 3 (aet)

Otley Town avenged two earlier defeats by Dynamo as they progressed to the second round of the Wharfedale FA Sunday Cup with an extra-time triumph.

Dynamo had previously beaten them in both Wharfedale Triangle League and cup action, but Otley made sure there was no repeat.

Andy Crowther opened the scoring for Otley when he reacted quickly to a fierce free kick which rebounded off Rob Powell, the Dynamo goalkeeper, to put the visitors 1-0 ahead after half an hour.

This lead was cancelled out soon afterwards, when Dan Henderson netted with a close-range shot.

Neither side was able to take control of the game.

Dynamo looked nervy in front of goal and lacked the required accuracy.

The solid Adam Walker at centre back and the sound Peter Galley in goal ensured that Dynamo were kept firmly at bay.

James Winward had another solid game for Dynamo and all three substitutes were used in a bid to force the breakthrough, but the game remained a stalemate.

On the balance of genuine chances a draw at full time seemed the most likely despite Dynamo playing well enough to take something from the game.

There was a heavy emphasis on both teams not to concede a late goal.

Otley came out of the blocks the quicker in the first period of extra time with Tom Walker soon putting them ahead.

Any hopes of a late Dynamo comeback were thwarted when Luke Danskin broke clear to side foot a third for Otley from close range.
