Keighley Athletic 5 Ilkley Dynamo 4

DESPITE an impressive hat-trick by Lee McGowan, Dynamo suffered their second successive away defeat at Marley Stadium.

On five occasions the home side took the lead and four times Dynamo equalised.

Both sides adopted a direct approach although Dynamo too often misplaced relatively simple passes.

Danny Bryan hit the woodwork twice in the opening minutes, a signal that it was not be the visitors' day.

Immediately the home side had scored the opening goal, Danny Williams levelled matters after hitting home an accurate Sam Westerman cross.

Neither side could achieve supremacy in midfield as the game moved from end to end.

Athletic began to rely on the counter attack and looked the more threatening side with less of the ball.

Playing with power and precision McGowan plundered his second hat trick of the season for Dynamo, each time pulling back goal after Keighley had taken the lead. However, the Dynamo team did not pass the ball with sufficient speed and clarity until late in the game.

Both teams matched each other throughout, until a rip-roaring finale resulted in the home side just edging a competitive and entertaining game.
