WEST Yorkshire League clubs' involvement in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy is thinning out.

However, Baildon Trinity Athletic have reached the fourth round after a 3-1 home victory over Cawood.

Athletic will be at home again in the next round on Saturday, January 6 when they face Yorkshire Amateur League opponents in Beeston St Anthony's.

However, not even a James Acton hat-trick could save Wyke Wanderers Reserves, who went down 5-3 at home to AFC Illingworth St Mary's.

In the Premier Division, Field lost 3-1 at Knaresborough Town, who leap-frogged the Hollingwood Lane club in the standings.

Tom Ponter had a mixed day for the visitors, scoring a goal but also receiving a red card as they slipped into the bottom half of the table.

In Division One, Wyke Wanderers lost by the same scoreline at East End Park, although this was more of a surprise as Wyke were third and Park seventh.

Matt Conway got the goal for Wyke, who had Brad Emerton dismissed for two yellow cards.

In Alliance Division One, Field stayed top after a 6-1 home victory over Leeds Modernians, with goals coming from Liam Lambert (3), Levi Pedder, Daniel Summers and Joe Vickers.

Meanwhile, Hartshead went down 3-0 at Pool.
