Baildon Trinity Athletic 0 Ilkley Town 5 (aet)

ILKLEY Town missed a last-minute penalty before scoring five times in extra-time to knock holders Baildon Trinity Athletic out of the Wharfedale & District FA Cup.

Top scorer Lee Spires was the man who squandered the last-gasp chance to settle the tie in normal time. His low spot kick was saved after striker Toby Harris had been pulled down.

Town had earlier had a goal from Danny Bott disallowed in a fiercely-contested tie.

But any suggestion that the West Yorkshire League Premier Division side had missed their chance to progress was blown away in the extra half hour.

They went ahead in the first minute when Harris saw his shot trickle over the line after being partially saved.

The lead was doubled six minutes later when Matty Whitehead played in Bott who set up Spires to fire home.

Spires was on target again in the 100th minute with his side's third goal in ten minutes. This time he hammered home from a Bott chip.

There was no way back for the tiring Baildon side who grafted and battled hard.

Harris netted his second goal three minutes from time before Spires completed his hat-trick with a half volley.
