Ilkley Town 6 Littletown 2

YOUNG Connor Greenwood scored four time in the second half as Ilkley Town secured their place in the last 16 of the West Riding County Challenge Cup.

They will now meet the winners of the weather-delayed tie between Ventus Yeadon Celtic and Calder 76 for a quarter-final spot.

Ilkley got off to a flying start and were ahead inside ten minutes. Darren Munday played a long ball in the direction of James Barker who latched onto the pass and chipped the on-rushing Littletown goalkeeper.

Munday, pictured, was also involved in the second goal minutes later.

The centre back headed home a brilliant cross from Danny Bott.

Despite their bright start, Ilkley took their foot off the gas and allowed Littletown to grow into the game.

The West Riding County Amateur League side pulled a goal back with a good piece of play and a fine finish.

Littletown equalised after 43 minutes with a run straight through the middle of the Ilkley defence leading to a shot into the net.

Just before the break the Greenwood show sprung into action.

The Ilkley forward found the goal with a brilliant volley after a mazy run and cross from Danny Henderson.

Greenwood continued to impress in the second half. This time the Ilkley midfielder got on the end of a long pass from goalkeeper Alex Wormall and coolly slotted away his second goal.

A couple of minutes later he completed his hat-trick with the help of Danny Bott.

Greenwood is the youngest Ilkley player to score a treble for the first team and to do it in less than ten minutes was impressive.

Littletown seemed to have gone into shock as they found themselves 5-2 down.

Ilkley continued to do a professional job on their opponents and were keeping the ball well.

In the closing stages of the game Greenwood got his fourth goal after a fantastic Ben Dexter cross.

Overall it was a great afternoon for Ilkley with good performances throughout the whole team.

Greenwood was deservedly named man of the match.
