Ilkley Town 1 Field 4

ILKLEY Town bowed out of the West Yorkshire League Cup at the hands of the league champions.

But the Division One promotion hopefuls did give Field an early scare when they took the lead after just two minutes.

Danny Henderson won possession inside the visitors' half and let fly with a tremendous strike which flew past the startled keeper from 35 yards.

It could've been worse for the champions when Connor Greenwood slipped a through ball for Henderson who seemed to be fouled by a Field defender as he was rushing through on goal. The referee waved away appeals for a penalty.

Ilkley retained their lead until the 50th minute when Field, clearly roused by their half-time team talk, equalised.

Field went ahead five minutes later and wrapped up victory with two goals in the final 12 minutes.

Town are at home to Littletown in the West Riding County Cup on Saturday.
