IIKLEY ended league leaders Wyke's seven-match unbeaten run, winning 4-1 at Ben Rhydding.

When Jack Murray won a free-kick on the edge of the Wyke penalty area, Darren Munday struck a glorious driven shot into the top corner.

Ilkley were punished when Ben Dexter misjudged the bounce of the ball and Wyke's centre forward lobbed it over James Hirst to equalise.

Ilkley were back in front eight minutes later when Danny Bott rifled a shot into the top corner.

Ilkley began to dominate and on 42 minutes Rich Schofield played a lovely weighted pass in between the full back and centre half for Adam Fowler to latch onto. He lifted the ball over the keeper for a 3-1 lead.

The second half started perfectly for Ilkley as, within two minutes, the game was put beyond their opponents. Bott drove forward with the ball, committed the centre half and released Fowler, who finished clinically.

The challenge for Ilkley now is finding consistency in their performances to ensure they can sustain their position at the top end of the league table.
