Ilkley Dynamo 6 Crossflatts 1

Dynamo produced a magnificent performance to hit Wharfedale Triangle Premier Division leaders Crossflatts for six.

The visitors had only lost once previously in nine league matches but they were torn apart by a Dynamo side playing their first league game since October 27.

Dynamo, who have been a rich vein of form in their recent cup clashes, dominated both territory and possession in the opening minutes.

Their neatness and precision soon resulted in Danny Henderson weaving forward to slot home a pin-point goal to put the home side 1-0 ahead.

The temperature of an at times feisty encounter was raised when Crossflatts headed home an equaliser, assisted by some fairly blustery conditions.

Soon afterwards the visitors’ goalkeeper had to be withdrawn with concussion but it made no difference to the forthcoming onslaught.

The Dynamo team went into their usual second half ascendancy by producing some elegant touches and clever movement going forward.

Danny Kenna worked hard in midfield for Dynamo as Crossflatts made little impact and Dynamo penetrated their defence with ease.

A breakaway goal scored by Danny Bryan and another from the tenacious Danny Bott gave the home side a comfortable 3-1 lead.

Crossflatts seldom threatened and Shane Etherington, the Dynamo goalkeeper, was rarely called into action.

Another irrepressible performance from the outstanding Craig Bentham, was crowned when he slotted home two further goals to make it 5-1. An own goal rounded off the scoring.

This week Dynamo play Yeadon Veterans at Kirk Lane, Yeadon in the Wharfedale & District FA Sunday Cup semi-final. Dynamo, current holders of the Machell Trophy, will be attempting to reach the final for the second successive season.
