The Wharfedale District Cup semi-final between Ilkley Town and Rawdon Old Boys was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch at Ben Rhydding.

It will now be played on Saturday, Jnauary 19 along with the second semi-final between Baildon Trinity and Otley Rovers.

This Saturday, Ilkley Town face Stanley United in another West Yorkshire League Division One promotion clash at Ben Rhydding (2pm).

This is followed on December 29 with a difficult away game at Horbury Town as Ilkley look to maintain a challenge for one of the promotion spots as the season moves into 2013.

The Ilkley side need to bounce back after a disappointing display at Hunslet FC after three consecutive victories.

They are hoping that some key players will return from injury or unavailability over the next two weeks.

Skipper Andy Bloom (knee), new striker Chris Alderson (hamstring) and midfielder James Winward have not featured over the past few games and their return will increase the competition for starting places.

A pleasing aspect to the season so far has been the number of players who are scoring goals with Phil Thommeseon (10) leading the way closely followed by Adam Davey (8).

Meanwhile, the Ilkley defence, with Darren Munday in outstanding form, has shown greater solidity than in previous seasons and has played a key part in the team’s success.

o Ilkley Dynamo received a bye into the semi-finals of the Wharfedale FA Sunday Cup when opponents Otley Town withdrew.

Dynamo will now be at home to Milford in the semi-finals on January 20 when Yeadon Veterans will take on Rawdon Old Boys.

Both ties will kick off at 11am and there will be extra time and penalties, if necessary, to decide the outcome.
