Thirteen proves unlucky for Dynamo
9:03am Thursday 8th March 2012 in Sport
Guiseley Red Lion 3 Ilkley Dynamo 2
In their 12 Premier Division matches Dynamo had only been beaten once, but number 13 proved unlucky as they went to the league leaders After an early Dynamo goal had been disallowed for an infringement, they opened the scoring after ten minutes, thanks to a fine individual effort by Luke Bott.
Neither side could dominate the midfield area and gave possession away too easily.
Guiseley also had a goal disallowed just before Daniel Forrest struck an equaliser for the home side to make it 1-1.
After the break and with honours even, both sides opened up and initiated numerous attacks.
Tom Rennolds and Mike Hutchinson worked hard for Dynamo while Lee Parr and Aaron Welsh were the pick for the home team.
After twice hitting the woodwork, Red Lion scored twice through Kris Tatterfield and Scott Norton to make it 3-1.
Dynamo then responded with some urgency and reasserted themselves late in the game.
A penalty, hit precisely by the impressive Danny Bryan made it 3-2.
Dynamo continued to push forward in search of an equaliser.
They repeatedly pressed forward against the best defence in the league but after a number of near misses, could not break a solid back line.
This week Dynamo visit Idle United in a League Cup tie at Queensway, Guiseley.
