GUISELEY Vixens crowned a superb FA Women's Premier League Northern Division One campaign with a tense 3-2 win at Blackpool Wren Rovers that secured the league championship, and with it a return to Premier Division (North), where they will join neighbours Bradford City and Huddersfield Town next season.

After leading 2-1 at the break, Guiseley found the second half tense, but two goals from Sarah Danby and one from Alarna Fuller eventually saw them home to clinch the title with three games to spare.

Despite the euphoria of their success, Guiseley should be guarding against complacency ahead of Sunday's game at home to 2015 promotion rivals Liverpool Marshalls Feds, who need to win to boost their chances of the runners-up spot.

There is nothing like a defeat to put a dampener on any celebrations.

With Brighouse Town winning 6-2 at early-season promotion chasers Chorley, they have given themselves an outside chance of a top-four finish.

Goals from Charlotte Proud (3), Jodie Redgrave (2) and Danielle Brown completed a comfortable win for Town, and with a home game against Crewe this weekend they could be on course to leapfrog Chorley and Chester-le-Street.

It is a remarkable turnaround for the Brighouse side after they had initially struggled to find their feet at this level following their promotion from the North East Women's Regional League, but if they can carry this form over into next season, they could be a good bet for another promotion.

In addition to that push for a top-four place, Brighouse Town also have the little matter of a County Cup final against Bradford City on Wednesday, May 17.

Bradford Park Avenue are another side who have seen a remarkable upturn in fortunes after a miserable start to the season, and they completed their West Riding County Women's League season with a superb 5-0 win over Brayton Belles.

With goals from Jade Nelson, Nat Bell, Becky Teale, Alice McUrich and Kirsty Russell, and three assists from skipper Nic Chamberlain, Avenue coasted home, and now concentrate on the Supplementary Cup in which they have a game this week against New Farnley at Armley Park.
