Otley Tavern 5 Milford 1

OTLEY TAVERN secured fourth place in the Wharfedale Triangle League with a game to go thanks to a great win at local rivals Milford.

Good build-up play from Tom Caton and Adam Walwyn left Tom Sharp with a chance to finish midway through the first half, which he took well to put Tavern ahead. Within five minutes they had doubled their lead.

A kick up field from Otley goalkeeper Rich Henry was controlled well by Caton and, after a sublime one-two with Walwyn, Caton slotted in to keep up his good goalscoring form.

Just before half-time Caton added his second after good work by Johnny Weedon and Matt Howarth.

Weedon broke the play up and Howarth picked out Walwyn, who slid it through to Caton for another calm finish.

Tavern started the second half quick out of the traps but it was Milford who pulled a goal back after Otley were unable to clear their lines from a corner and Pete Connelly smashed home from 12 yards.

Thoughts of a comeback were put to bed as Sharp grabbed his second. Again, great work in the middle by Weedon lead to Caton having time to pick out Sharp, who finished with pinpoint precision from a tight angle.

The game was rounded off in the final minutes as Howarth grabbed his first goal of the season with a headed effort after Caton's shot was well saved.
