Pool reserves face a nail-biting finale in their fight to beat the drop from the West Yorkshire League Alliance First Division.

They must win at Hunslet Club next week to make sure of staying up after drawing 1-1 at relegation rivals Headingley.

The point kept them just above the Leeds side, who have a game in hand.

Headingley started well but it needed a goalkeeping error to gift them a goal.

Pool responded with Grant Bligh heading against the woodwork. They levelled early in the second half with an excellent left-foot shot by Jamie Algar.

Headingley missed good chances to regain the lead with Pool goalkeeper Kevin Dennison also handling well from a series of crosses.

Pool’s first team held on to eight spot in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division despite a 2-0 defeat at Brighouse Old Boys.

Matthew Nebard went closest to scoring with an effort that hit the post as their unbeaten run was ended.
