Ilkley Dynamo 7 FC Cuedos 1
DYNAMO maintained the Wharfedale Triangle Premier Division leadership with a comprehensive victory.
The teams had met earlier this season in Bradford with Dynamo winning 6-5 against a team promoted after winning the Division One title last season.
On this occasion the home side dominated possession from the kick off. They were compact in defence, with Sam Jacomb and Ollie Blair outstanding and this, coupled with a consistent barrage of pressure up front, ensured a flood of goals.
A fine run by Ross Wilson on the left resulted in a pin-point cross for Chris Holmes to hit home the opener for Dynamo after ten minutes.
A superb team effort produced some fluent movement and powerful passing as they exerted relentless pressure.
Dynamo keeper Shane Etherington showed sharp reflexes at the sign of any quick break by Cuedos, but the visitors rarely escaped their own half.
Both Dom Grimes and Danny Bott controlled the midfield well with some electrifying pace before Tom Higman added a second goal as Dynamo began to reproduce entertaining, excellent football. Further notable goals by Danny Henderson, Wilson, Tom Rennolds, Ben Cater and Danny Kenna ensured that Dynamo maintained control on a heavy pitch which was only declared fit just prior to kick off.
