Addingham 2 FC No Curfew 1

Addingham beat newcomers No Curfew to win the Alverton Trophy.

No Curfew arrived with a crate of champagne, and their first half performance suggested their confidence wasn’t misplaced.

They went 1-0 up late in the half and might have scored more if Addingham keeper James Potter. hadn’t been in such good form.

Addingham had a man sent off just before half-time, but manager Simon Collins rallied his troops and they responded tremendously.

Addingham got the breakthrough they wanted when Steve Hunt leapt at the far post to equalise.

Knowing that extra-time would be too much for ten men, they pushed for a second, and Andy Brightman obliged.

No Curfew threw everything at the Addingham goal. The climax came with a controversial penalty with two minutes to go.

The Addingham supporters could barely watch as the No Curfew player fired his spot kick over the bar.
