Horsforth St Margaret's 0 Ilkley Dynamo 2

HOLDERS Dynamo took their unbeaten run to seven games after an excellent performance in defeating Horsforth St Margaret's, to reach the Wharfedale Triangle League Cup final again.

Horsforth struggled to repel early waves of Dynamo attacks and this constant pressure resulted in a succession of five offside decisions as the visitors pushed forward at will.

They were thwarted from a breakthrough by a rugged home rearguard, reliant on quick counter attacks. Outstanding contributions from Sam Jacomb and Simon Walker, in the Dynamo defence, helped to give the visitors a solid look.

An extremely effective midfield, with Danny Bott and Danny Kenna both prominent, moved the ball quickly as the resilience of the team shone through.

Both sides spurned chances before another big second-half effort put them in the driving seat.

An impressive run by Danny Henderson resulted in an accurate cross for the pacey Danny Bryan to score his tenth goal of the season to put Dynamo 1-0 up on the hour.

This quality of endurance remained a key feature for the visitors when some swift exchanges involving Tom Higman

produced a hard low shot from Henderson to double the lead.

Dynamo play Shipley Town at Esholt on Sunday in their final league game while the League Cup final against Keighley Town will be at Thackley on Sunday, May 10.
