Field seeking cup treble at Elland Road
Many clubs achieve an end-of-season double but West Yorkshire Association side Field are chasing a cup treble.
They have already won the Bradford & District FA Saturday Challenge Cup, defeating Hunsworth 1-0, and their own league's cup, beating Beeston St Anthony's 4-0.
But the icing on the cake would be the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup, where they face West Riding County Amateur League club Steeton in the final on Monday at Elland Road (7pm).
Also it is an event that Field have never won, only reaching the semi-finals previously in their halcyon days.
Victory would cap a great season for the first team, who are under the management of former players Steve Vickers and Barry Dunne.
Field have already secured their best league position of third and have knocked out some of the strongest teams in West Yorkshire on their way to the final, including Ovenden West Riding and Bay Athletic (on penalties), who finished as the leading duo in the County Amateur League .
Both Field's reserves and under-19 teams have also had good seasons - indeed eight of the squad for Monday night started with the club's under-19s.
And always in the background has been the uncertainty of how long the club could stay at their current headquarters off Hollingwood Lane as the pitch, surroundings and clubhouse would be prime development land were it not for restrictions on the length of their lease.
Victory on Monday would certainly give Field FC another boost.
