Otley Town are on the look out for new players as they prepare to start training for the new season.

The club are looking to attract recruits of all ages and ability, both new to the club and old.

Town are also reviving their previously successful academy team.

President Bill Lumsden said “We are always on the lookout for new players to improve the existing squads.

“The Club is welcoming and anybody at all wanting to come down to take a look is welcome.

“We have an outstanding playing surface at the Old Showfield and the thought of playing every other game on that surface must be very attractive to potential new players.”

Training begins next Thurs day at 7pm and will continue every Thursday as well as Saturdays at 1pm.

Friendlies are also being arranged.

Town are looking to add to their coaching staff for their senior sides.

The senior teams playing competitive football include the first team, Reserves, the Academy and Sunday team.

The top two sides are members of the West Yorkshire League with the first team playing in the Premier Division, which has recently gained Step 7 status in the FA Non-League football pyramid.

The first team finished ninth in the league which was more than respectable after a disastrous start to the season that saw them stuck in the bottom three nearing the halfway stage of the season.

New manager Dave Holmes came in and managed to steady the ship.

The team’s form improved and some superb results were achieved including beating league winners Bardsey away from home.

Town eventually finished in a mid-table finish.

The Junior teams play in a variety of local leagues.

The club are looking to attract new coaches to aid the existing structure, ideally with FA Level 2 coaching licence, however this should not deter those keen to get involved as there is a system in place to put progressive personnel through their coaching badges. The club currently have vacancies for managers, coaches and physios for the reserve and Academy teams.

The junior section are seeking managers for the under-nine and ten teams.
