ILKLEY Harriers joined thousands of other runners for the popular, fast course of the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k.

Cameron Reilly, who has been highly placed in the U17 West Yorkshire Cross Country races this season, proved he is also a classy runner on the road by leading in the Harriers in a sub-35 minute time.

Other Ilkley Harriers opted for the challenging ten-mile Guy Fawkes road race near Harrogate. Runners faced three long, steep hills but were rewarded by finishing in the lovely surroundings of Ripley Castle and were given generous goody bags to take home.

Jane McCarthy was the first Ilkley runner to finish and achieved 2nd F40 place.
