BURNSALL Feast is a traditional Dales village summer gala with fun for all the family.

There’s junior fell races and for the seniors a ten-mile road race and the classic fell race to choose from.

The road race is a counter in the Harriers League this year but only four lined up.

Unfortunately intermittent heavy showers took on a rather horizontal character due to the wind but the scenery was lovely and more than compensated for the weather and the 800ft ascent.

(1 Julian Hood, Skipton AC) 57:33, 27 Dave Robson 68:49, 78 Alison Weston 83:06, 102 Hilda Coulsey 92:33, 108 Petra Bijsterveld 97:02.

The classic fell race is 800ft straight up and down over just 1.6 miles.

Ruaridh Mon Williams finished 11th overall in a competitive men’s race, and was actually fifth runner to the top.

Alison Weston did the double and managed to come home as third lady having already done the road race, spurred on by lots of spectators including Hilda and Petra.

(1 Sam Tosh, Rossendale Harriers 14:28), 11 Ruaridh Mon-Williams 17:09, 86 Rob Budding 24:43, 94 Alison Weston 3rd F 25:37.

Three Harriers turned out for the tough Pendle Three Peaks fell race (9.9m and 870m ascent) in very windy and wet conditions.

Jim Ryder was first home in 1:40:35 followed by Jo Foster (3rd lady and 1st LV45) and Adela Reperecki (1st LV55), 21 Jim Ryder 1:40:35, 2nd V50, 61 Jo Foster 2:02:24 3rd Lady, 1st LV45, 93 Adela Reperecki 2:19:03, 1st LV55.
