TIM ASHELFORD was first Ilkley Harrier home in the third PECO cross country race at West Park.

His time of 33min 12secs saw him claim 45th place overall and the third veteran 50 spot. He was followed by: Stephen Coy 89th in 34:53; Robert Budding 229th in 39:55; Andrew Jackson 289th in 42:25; Geoffrey White 302nd in 42:51; Neil Bloor 308th in 43:03; Don Macrae 444th (2nd V70) in 53:38.

In the female senior race, Hilda Coulsey was first Harrier home in 159th position (3rd V60) with a time of 48:36. She was followed by: Gaenor Coy 175th in 49:16; Jacqui Weston 236th in 53:01; Kate Lofthouse 276th in 55:45; Clare Shouler 340th in 1:09:43.

Nick Ford was first Airecentre Pacer home in 40:24 but, despite some valiant running from the team, they were unable to claim anything more than the wooden spoon. In the absence of the ladies captain, Pacers' Most Promising Runner for 2016, Alex Carey, lived up to her billing to lead the team home in 49.18, ensuring the ladies finished one position better than the men. * Ilkley Harrier Lucy Williamson claimed first female at Penrhyn Park Run with an impressive time of 19:49. She finished fifth overall behind Menai Track and Field winner Osian Perrin, who clocked 17:38.
