JEMIMA Elgood smashed 45 seconds off the women's course record in the seventh running of the Addingham Gala Race on Saturday.

The Ilkley Harriers teenager returned a time of 46min 17sec to finish fourth overall in an event that is hosted by her own club.

The winner was Otley's Liam Dunne in 44:08 with Ilkley's Paul Carman second in 44:40. Jann Smith was third lady in 55:12

Stuart Herrington was the first Harriers runner to finish the tough but scenic Borrowdale trail half marathon. He came 42nd in 2:17:55 and was followed home by Dave Ibbotson, 83rd in 2:38:10,

Paul Sugden, 120th in 3:04:43 and Donna Hattersley, 121st in 3:04:45 .

Kate and Martin Archer along with Alison Weston took part in the Sedbergh Sports fell race, an English and British Championship race, on Saturday.

It was staged on a short and steep marked route (5.6km/400m) in misty, wet conditions .

Simon Bailey from Mercia took first place in 24:58 and Victoria Wilkinson of Bingley Harriers took the honours for the ladies in 29:05.

Martin Archer was 122nd in a competitive field in 31:30, while Kate Archer was 36th lady in 36:36 and Weston 48th lady (6th V50) in 37:33.

Robin Nicholson came 8th in the Baildon Canter ( 5.6km / 152m) in 23:00 minutes on Saturday while 11 Harriers took part in the Jane Tomlinson Race for All Leeds 10 on Sunday. The best of the Harriers was Rhys Jones who was 417th in 44:22. He was followed by 476 Erin Keating 44:41, 526 Harry Sime 45:44, 543 Robert Sime 45:52, 1323 David Green 49:47, 1443 Charlotte Smithson 52:26, 1684 Alex Hyde 52:35, 3001 Abigail Bailey 62:24, 3389 William Woodhead 52:12, 3594 Donna Hattersley 52:57, 5421 Annabel Bailey 68:13.

Paul Carmen and Jann Smith competed in the midweek Stirton fell race and had fine runs to come third in 40:18 and fifth lady (1st LV45) in 50:10, respectively.

The Danefield Relay on Otley Chevin, was by Fellandale, saw Ilkley field five teams. There were some fine performances especially from Jack Cummings, Dave Wilby - making a return to running after injury) - and Rosie Darwood, running one of her first races for the club.

50:10 and 89:33 respectively.

Sarah Pickering has finished as first under-18 girl in the final FRA junior fell championship results after completing six races.

In the same category Lucy Jacques was ninth, Jemima Elgood tenth and Lucy Haines 11th.

Euan Brennan was fourth under-16 boy and Lewis Carr 12th under-12 boy. Other top 20 finishers include Bethan Morley 16th under-16 girl, Poppy Anderson ninth under- 14 girl and Phoebe Worrall 10th under 12 girl.
